The flag and royalty
At eight o’clock each morning, the Thai national flag is ceremoniously raised in every Thai town and city. The flag is composed of five horizontal bands of white, red and blue. The white symbolises the purity of Buddhism; red, the land and its people; and blue, the monarchy as the force that binds the other two together.
